While implementing WP3 activities focus group gathered on March 28 in the office of Small Partnership „Virmalda“ in Kaunas to discuss issues of job shadowing guidelines. The group consisted of two students Vytenis Bartkus and Povilas Grybovas, two entrepreneurs Gediminas Rabačius and Dainius Navickas, teachers Ina Liniova and Asta Grikštienė together with the head of construction department of Kaunas Education Center of Technologies Rūtenis Jančius and teacher facilitator Mantas Krasauskas.

During the discussion participants implemented icebreaker activity first to make the conversation run smoothly, then importance and benefits of job shadowing for both the individual being shadowed and the observer were discussed. Afterwards the group identified key components of job shadowing such as learning through observation, organized training sessions and planned evaluation. Issues of logistical considerations and challenges were discussed, along with strategies for overcoming them. All participants of the focus group agreed that job shadowing was necessary and essential factor for the young learner to enter labor market and get initial experience and understanding how the system works. To achieve the best results for both sides empathy is essential component. Without it no mutual understanding and effective communication can be achieved.

Soon there will be more updates of our activities on this project!
