Expanding the horizon
During my visit to the MICA organization in Leeuwarden, I had the opportunity to job shadow Eko Kooistra, a Marketing Specialist whose work excels in creativity and strategy. MICA, located in the vibrant heart of the city, fosters a unique environment where experimentation and innovation are central to professional growth in the creative industry. Eko’s approach to marketing emphasizes meaningful branding and social impact, using tools such as co-creation, network activation, and a strong focus on customer experience. Throughout the day, I observed how he connects sustainable ideas to effective communication strategies, all while making sure the brand’s message resonates with the right audience. It was inspiring to see how Eko combines design, content strategy, and marketing insight to empower companies and students alike. The experience was not only informative but also highly motivating, offering a real glimpse into how creativity drives success in a constantly evolving industry.
