Job Shadowing at Sedrana/ How I Found My Passion for Event Management:
When I first heard about the opportunity to do job shadowing at Sedrana, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I knew I had an interest in events and enjoyed being part of social settings, but I didn’t yet know if that meant I should turn it into a career. I decided to go in with an open mind to observe, to help where I could, and most importantly, to discover whether this path was truly for me.
From the moment I stepped into the lively, energetic atmosphere at Sedrana, I felt something click. I watched the team plan, coordinate, and bring everything together from setting up the venue to handling last minute changes, welcoming guests, and making sure everyone was having a great time. I wasn’t just standing on the sidelines, I got the chance to assist, ask questions, and really get a taste of what it’s like to be behind the scenes of an event.
What surprised me most was how much joy I felt through the experience. I loved the challenge of making sure every detail was right, the excitement of solving problems quickly, and the reward of seeing people smile, laugh, and connect with each other all because of something we helped create. It made me realize that I don’t just like organizing, but i love it. Seeing others enjoy an experience that you helped shape is one of the most fulfilling feelings I’ve ever had.
That’s when I knew: this is my thing. Event organizing is what I want to do. It combines creativity, structure, teamwork, and energy. All things that fit me perfectly. After that experience, I made the decision to fully commit to this path. I started a study focused on Event Management, and ever since, I’ve been learning, growing, and getting closer to my goal of becoming a professional event organizer.
Looking back, that one job shadowing experience at Sedrana completely changed my perspective. It didn’t just show me what a career in event management looks like. It helped me discover something about myself. It gave me direction, motivation, and a real sense of purpose. And for that I am very grateful.
