Empathy is everywhere – if you’re open to it.
This past Wednesday, we had the opportunity to join students from various programs at Firda Dokkum. During this meaningful day, they visited Camp Amersfoort and the Pas-Op kamp in Vierhouten – places that leave a lasting impression.
The process of reflection began on the road. While still on the bus, we facilitated an empathy-focused workshop, using creative methods and thought-provoking questions to engage the students. Not your typical classroom, but a moving space for introspection and connection. The students’ responses were genuine and powerful. They expressed feelings of compassion, discomfort, and a deep sense of gratitude for their own circumstances. Moments where empathy became tangible – personal and impactful.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the students and teachers of Firda for their openness, trust, and for allowing us to be part of this special journey. We are grateful to have contributed to a day filled with empathy, awareness, and human connection.
