As our Erasmus+ project “Mind the Future” came to a close, we marked the occasion with a special event hosted across three unique location. Each thoughtfully designed to reflect the spirit of empathy, creativity, and collaboration that defines this project.
In Westereen, MBO students from Logistics Center explored what empathy looks like in a business setting. The event brought students, teachers, and entrepreneurs together for a round-table on “Empathy in Sales.” Real conversations, role-play exercises, and reflections showed how empathy strengthens client relationships and builds trust not only in school, but also in real life.
In Leeuwarden, HBO students at NHL Stenden dived into empathy and communication in a creative, reflective setting. Incoming mentors learned how to better understand their future mentees and themselves through interactive activities. The session encouraged openness, awareness, and practical strategies for mentoring with heart.
In Dokkum, Firda teachers gathered for a warm and inspiring exchange about teaching with empathy. We shared the BE Games and Job Shadowing guidelines, which sparked great interests among teachers. The session reminded us how small actions such as listening, noticing and caring can create lasting impact in education.
Across all three locations, one message kept returning: empathy is not just a soft skill – it’s a powerful bridge between education and entrepreneurship, between personal reflection and shared growth.
Big thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success: students, mentors, teachers, entrepreneurs, and partners. We look forward to seeing how this mindset continues to grow – in Friesland and beyond
