Empathy Games in Action: Day 2 of Soft Skills Training for Higher Degree Students
Today marked the second day of empathy-based learning activities for students enrolled in higher degree programmes. As part of their training, students engaged with a selection of games from the BE-Games playbook, including the Value Game, “Empathy Game for Business Training”, and the role-playing activity “Empathy Map”. These dynamic and thought-provoking sessions were designed to foster critical soft skills in a collaborative and immersive way.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to actively develop and reflect on key competencies such as integrity, innovation, respect, and, most importantly, empathy. While the games sparked rich discussions and team-based problem solving, they also posed certain challenges, from stepping into unfamiliar roles to managing differing viewpoints within groups. Nevertheless, the students embraced these difficulties as part of their learning journey, gaining valuable insight into human behaviour, ethical decision-making, and the importance of emotional intelligence in professional environments.
These sessions not only reinforced the relevance of empathy in business and everyday life but also empowered students to take these lessons beyond the classroom.
